People often spend a great deal of energy on updating clothes and colors to keep up with the seasons. You might even make the same changes to your dining room table and related décor, but do you remember to adjust the look of your walls as the seasons change? This does not have to cost a fortune or require a massive amount of work. Here are five ideas for quick solutions to help effortlessly modify a room and capture any visitor’s imagination.
# 1: Seasonal Pictures or Colored Canvas
There is no need for your walls to be stuck with the same pictures all year long. You can easily transform the look of an entire room simply by replacing the paintings or photographs you have hanging on the wall. You may wish to maintain a supply of various bright and seasonal colors of the same-size painted canvases so you can easily swap them out as necessary. When it is time to change the look of the room, you can simply change pictures without having to reposition the nails. When the leaves change color or you are in the mood to revamp the room’s atmosphere, a simple exchange of color accents on the wall can adjust its look in an instant.
# 2: Columns
Do you have a blank wall space or corner to fill? Place a small column against the wall. The hard part will be deciding which sculpture, plant or other decoration you want to exhibit on top. For example, it would be simple to change flower designs in accordance with your mood or to fit a certain occasion. These columns also can be painted and repainted to contrast with the color palette of the room.
# 3: Foliage to Trim Around Windows
Is coming home to drab colors a drag, especially during bad weather? Line foliage or vines along the wall or above the window and immediately bring the sunny outdoors inside. You can even attach flowers to fit the season and decor. Or, make your wall pop for a party with a string of lights or Chinese lanterns to set the perfect mood for any get together.
# 4: Wall Stickers
If you want your wall decorations to say something unique about your sense of style, pre-made wall stickers can make a grand statement. These stickers are available in a variety of shapes and themes such as trees, birds and silhouettes of wildlife. You can also find equipment at your local craft store to help you customize them with pictures or words specific for the room you are decorating. Simply peel these stickers from the wall when you want to change its look.
# 5: 3D Box Shelves
If you enjoy memorabilia, vintage pieces or other collector’s items, small 3D box shelves can be an inexpensive way to display these treasures for everyone to enjoy. Swapping out the specific pieces these shelves displaye can help set a specific atmosphere for the room without much effort.
