I love DIY and HGTV for all the homne improvement Ideas it to bad they don’t think Manitpba Justifies as being a place to do some shows. I could sure use the help on our old house as weare not sure where to start. We have a leakinbg basement that a home inspector did not catch we only found out the day we were moving in because of the rain. Also found leak undert the stairs on main floor and need to clean out the mold in there but we also have been trying to figure out how to make our very small Bathroom bigger with out busting the budget. I would love to have a bathtub for soaking in and just relaxing but not sure on where to put it our main bathroom is so small and has a 2.5 foot tub / shower. We are getting married May of 2010 so all our improvements are on hold till after then but would love to find someone who could give us ideas here. When we bought the house we were to have someone come in to fence the yard who was a general contractor but very unreliable so we fenced it ourselves. Knowing where we are there are not very many trades or are to busy to give us an idea of what it will cost. Please help in Ste Rose du Lac MB

I’ve been searching for sometime and it seems that none of the home improvement shows come to my area of the Central Valley of California (Fresno CA). We have a beautiful old home built in the late 70′s and our entire home is dated. The only thing we’ve done is replace the “GREEN” 70′s shag! We tried removing the “GREEN” wallpaper in the master with no luck…It’s really stuck on the drywall. We have been living in the master for a year now trying to figure out how to procede. Yes, it would be nice for someone to come to Fresno CA…but hey, it’s Fresno and no one wants to come here! If you decide to come to Fresno…please email me. My family is great with lots of Greeks and Hungarians…a super mix!

Here is another Vancouverite wishing that HGTV would come here for a home Reno help show. We bought our house 2 years ago and now 2 kids later can’t afford to do anything with the place! The previous owners were design crazies and clearly worked at a scrap metal place as it has been plastered poorly all over this place. We removed the ‘chicken grill fence’ but would really love to update this place into a more functional space. HGTV PLEASE COME TO VANCOUVER!!!!

If you are ever in the good old Midwest (Waukesha, Wisconsin) I would love to give my wife her dream. We had only been married 2 years when she was diagnosed with COPD and is unable to do the things she used to do. We purchased the house we live and have not been able to do anything to the outside since she became ill. It is a blank slate. I need help to build a small deck on to the front of our house where she could go outside with her oxygen unit and enjoy the great outdoors. The oxygen is restricting her freedonms. It would be great if she could breathe a breath of fresh air!

My family just purchased a foreclosed home that was vacant for over a year. It is our dream home (or will be). It is a Colonial Williamsburg reproduction built on 1 1/2 acres. When the home was younger, our neighbors tell us, that it was “the” house of the neighborhood. Now it is the “eye sore” of the neighborhood! There are vines growing up and into the siding and windows. Most of the molding around the windows has rotted and is falling apart. There is an entrance porch in the back of the house that has paint chipping and rotten wood. The doors and windows are very drafty. The doors have been scratched and eaten by the former homeowners dogs. The grounds have a lot of potential, but we do not have a lot of money. If there is any Home Improvement show out there who needs a “client” in the Baltimore Metropolitan area, we are it. Our house has great potential. It just needs labor, know how and money.

Single mom living in Victoria, BC, in need of a kitchen/dining room/panty make-over. I own a condo (build in the 70′s) and it needs some TLC and your renovation expertise. I am tired of looking at my washer and dryer that are located in the dining room. These items need to move, and best place for it to go (in my opinion) is the pantry/storage area, and in order to do that the kitchen needs to be rearranged. How is that for an interesting and challenging project, so why not take the show across Canada and featuring some reno shows for small spaces. I would be so grateful to be given a hand with this.

    Calling Los Angeles Homeowners!

HGTV’s hit renovation show “Professional Grade” is searching for outgoing & savvy homeowners who are about to start a renovation & think they can renovate a room cheaper and better than a contractor. In the show, homeowners go toe to toe with the professionals for a chance to win BIG CASH! The goal for homeowners is to source high-end materials on the cheap, take on the bulk of the labor themselves and manage their subcontractors to get the best quality work at below market prices. When the renovation is done, their experts price out the job based on the quality. If their estimate is higher than what their homeowners spent, the homeowners pocket the cash difference. The last BIGGEST winner took home $40,000. This could be a win win for homeowners…a chance to be on TV and have your renovation paid for. Interested candidates should email tseiler@highnoontv.com for an application. We look forward to hearing from you!

My future son-in-law has purchased an old building that is in dire need of repair, and reconstruction. He has very little knowledge but thoughtn he would be able to handle it.After the purchase, things started to pile up on him. It houses store fronts that he would eventually rent out and apparments as well with one of them being their own. It is going to be a major reno and probably way over the cost he was expecting. This project is located in the Niagara region-Welland On. situated right on the canal. Please, please if you can help him out we would be so greatful to you and would help their future star off better. Thank you for taking the time to read this and I really hope something might come of this e-mail.P.S. He doesn’t know that I sent this but I’m sure he will accept this with much gratitude. I just sent a huge letter requesting help with repairs of a lemon of a house we bought in cuba city wisconsin. we were talked out of doing a inspection when we bought the house because it was only 12 years old. When we put it up for sale and a potential buyer had a inspection done the list of all the things gone wrong starts from bottom to top. The sump pump isnt right the basement floods, to having the roof replaced after a storm and not sure the contractor even properly replaced roof.

We have financially suffered due to the economy with my partner being laid off in the past to me losing my job 10/10. I am back in school at age 49 being pd for as a displaced worker. I do consider that one blessing. We have do not have a lot of money for a contractor to fix all that needs fixing…

    Hello HGTV,
I really like the Holmes on Holmes Show. However the concept is always the same, an incompetant house inspector fails to provide a honest and detailed report to the potental homebuyer. I would love for HGTV to come to Rockwood, Ontario (very close by to where Mike Holmes lives)and perhaps do a show where the exact opposite occurs. My cousin paid for a 5 page house inspection report, and should of ran away as far as she could. This house inspector deserves a medal, for doing his job…But my cousin did not read the report, nor did her lawyer. Now 6 years later she is still suffering as to what to do with a broken down house, that she still calls home.
As much as we all learn from the concept of Mike Holme’s TV show,I would like to see one future show with this particular house inspector that did this house inspection and be brought back to this home, and explain to my cousin, what went wrong as to why no one read his report, why is it that there were so many blinders on to all involved, from the seller, real estate, lawyer, and the buyer. The worst known fact of this home is,it was built sitting under a natural spring of water, has two sump pumps running 24/7, and at one time had 4 feet of water in the finished basement. The neighbours across the street do not have to have their sump pumps plugged in, as they have no water to pump. What has happened to full disclosure and how high do we have to put the red flags so as people would take notice and pay attention. I think that Mike Holmes would be honoured and proud in meeting this House Inspector, as so would I. Also Mike Holmes could meet my cousin, as he only lives down the road from her, but most importantly Mike could send a different message to a lot of people.
Thank-you for reading what I had to say, either way I still really like the Holmes on Holmes TV show.

HELP…My husband runs a swimming pool buisness and generally speaking after the pool is done someone else takes over the back yard to finish landscaping. We recently bought a new home and installed an inground pool. The backyard is empty,a fresh clean palate. In Dec 2009 I was diagnosed with breast cancer which I beat but with alot of hard decisions.I have had a double masstectomy in June 2010. In Nov of this year{2011} I had reconstruction surgery, the same day my youngest daughter had 4 teeth removed and the next day my 10 yr old daughter had her tonsils removed,2 weeks later not even being healed from that yet,she acquired Bells Palsy for the second time..My hubby took care of all of us for so long that I beleive he deserves to have a backyard oasis of his own. Finally,he is always contributing to everyone elses back yard paridises..His turn..thank you for your time.

Hi: We love watching your shows and getting ideas for various home-improvement projects. Our daughter & her husband have three young children, 10, 8 and, 5 years of age. When they bought their present home, they had plans of converting the attic into a master-bedroom. They have three very tiny bedrooms upstairs that are occupied by the parents and two younger children. The oldest child has Asperger’s syndrome. Because of which, he is super-sensitive to noise. Poor child, he sleeps in a room which was used as an office by the previous owners and is located two floors below the parents’ & siblings’ bedrooms. This room has the return-air duct in it which is very noisy and this child has trouble falling 7 staying asleep. Our son-in-law lost his job three years ago and hasn’t been able to find a job in his line since then. Suffices to say that their dream of any home-improvement is dead at the moment. My wife & I are willing to offer our services, as far as, the labour is concerned. We are senior citizens but are healthy and don’t mind putting in long hours to help out. Anything for our grandson. Thank you.

Ok, so where do I start. Well, this request isn’t for myself, but for my son and his family. My son works in construction but has been out of work for the last few years, doing odd jobs as he comes by them. He’s a very hard worker but can’t find steady employment. My daughter-in-law is employed but has severe back problems and has to go through another surgery the first of next year. Her mother purchased a little farmhouse for them to live in

and unfortunately since they have moved in they have all be getting sick. They have 3 children and the 7 year old continually breaks out in hives and the 6 yr old’s hair is falling out in patches. They have a mold problem because the foundation of the home pretty much sits on the ground. My granddaughter can’t even stay in her room. They do not have the resources to fight this problem or fix it. Please any help would be wonderful. Thanks
